Senior Economist, World Bank

Brian Stacy is a Senior Economist in the Office of the Chief Economist for People at the World Bank. His current work focuses on the Human Capital Index Plus (HCI+), flagship reports on human development, and a minimum data package for children, adolescents, and youth. Previously, he served as a data scientist with the Indicators and Data Services team in the World Bank’s Development Data Group, co-leading the Statistical Performance Indicators project and contributing to the Atlas of Sustainable Development Goals and the World Development Indicators. He has also worked on the Global Education Policy Dashboard and Learning Poverty projects in the Education Global Practice.
His research interests include measurement and data gaps, economics of education, labor markets, nutrition, and poverty. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Michigan State University.
